Autumn Fun!

Wall paper that I found on Google... free image

It is Sunday night. I have to confess that this is the first time I have been on the computer since I have been home. First I went to read a few blogs and leave a couple of replies and then I decided to do my own blog post.

I really don't have much news to share. I have had a time with my blood pressure sky rocking up to stroke level so I went to the emergency room and they admitted me.
It set off the domino effect. The high blood pressure caused my sugar to elevate to a dangerous level, then the pain in my leg intensified and so they did a few tests on my feet. The pulses in my feet are faint but blood is flowing to my feet and so that is the most important thing.
My magnesium and sodium were low so I had to have supplements to bring those back up.
But I am home. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to see if my blood pressure medication is working properly now.

The kids are doing good. I have wished for and have not gotten it, but I would love to have them bottle some of that energy and let me have it!
Yesterday we painted cookies for Day Of The Dead. It was fun and tomorrow or in a few days we will carve our pumpkins. We need 2 more but are going smaller for the 2 youngest.

I knew that there was a way to keep them from rotting but I didn't know all of the steps so I googled it.
Bleach water is very important as it stops mold. Apparently we are supposed to spray the pumpkin with a tablespoon of bleach to a gallon of water and they suggested a spray bottle so all of the pumpkin gets sprayed.
After the pumpkin is sprayed well it is to dry and then find a huge tub, fit in your pumpkin, add water and 2/3 cup of bleach and let soak for up to 24 hours.
(Is it me or is step #1 really not needed since it will be getting a bleach bath anyway?)???

After 24 hours take it out of the tub and let dry. The Pumpkin is now ready to create..
After creating a beautiful masterpiece then spray it with bleach water once more, let it dry completely and then rub the design with Vaseline to lock in the moisture.
Other tips include keeping it as cool as possible. I live in a warmer climate and  no extra room in my fridge but for those that do have room then bring it inside and put in the fridge over night. The cooler it is the longer it will last.
It also recommended to spray it daily with the bleach water. Mold happens fast and that includes the stem.
So now I know that Bleach Water and Vaseline is my friend and I hope to keep our Jack 'O Lanterns looking spiffy even after the night of Goblins, Witches and Warlocks alike.

Well for as long as I am here because I leave on the 28th for Reno Nevada.
I am so excited for this little trip. Did you know that this is the first time I will actually hold this child in my arms and feel her little arms around me?
She will be 5 years old the day before Halloween. We FaceTime but it is just not the same. This visit is 5 years late. Money, schedules, routines, jobs, illness and various other things have kept us from visiting. In this day and age where we could just catch a plane, the cost is outrageous and if you do have the money then it is work or illness or something else that prevents us from visiting each other.

I will try and keep up with my blog while I am gone, but just in case I miss a day I will blog when I can. I am still a night owl regardless of where I am. lol.

This coming weekend we are going to try and go to one of the Pumpkin Patches close by.
My neighbor Emily, her church is hosting a Trunk and Treat so the kids are invited to that.
So we are going to be busy.

The kids are doing great with their school work. It makes for a long day but it is important to stay in our routine. We are doing better.
It is always an adjustment and I have my own routine so I know how difficult it can be to stay on task.

My mind rambles and I get distracted easily so it is hard for me, let alone a 5 year old trying to sit still and do his work. But he is doing really well and I am very proud of him. I am proud of all of them.

It is getting late and I can't see to type in the dark so I will close for now and do a few things and get ready for bed myself. Karyn is ready for the light to be turned out so I will say goodnight... BB

Hello and Happy Thursday!

The Name of this kit is called The Night Of The Raven.
Rosie's Designs

https://www.e-scapeandscrap.net/boutique/index.php…

My dear friend Rosie is now putting her designs up for sale. This is a beautiful kit. Check it out... She is truly awesome.

Hi,
I am not sure if I shared this page or not. I just made it simple as I was in a hurry, but I don't think it turned out half bad but I did not do this kit justice.
Still I will have Halloween pages to make and grandkids in costumes so I still have ample opportunities to make more pages.

I wanted to blog yesterday but I was not feeling my best with my leg hurting. Actually I was in pain all day yesterday and so I just tuned everyone and everything out.
I tend to do that when I am in pain. Some times it is all that I can do and if you have chronic pain then you understand what I am talking about.
Depression goes hand in hand with pain. How can one not feel depressed when it takes every ounce of energy just to concentrate on moving my hurting body to get up and go to the bathroom?
Even tho I was hurting and still am to a point, having my grandchildren has been a joy. It is hard to be depressed when one of my little ones comes up to me and says "I love you Na-Na." or the baby when he puts his little arms around me and lays his head on my shoulder and babbles away.
So I haven't been depressed but the pain is getting to the point that yesterday was a hard day. I slept as much as possible and I was in bed asleep at 9:30 last night.
Miss Foxy woke me up during the night and licking me on the mouth. She usually does this when she is thirsty. I got up to check her bowl but it was full. I gave her a fresh bowl and opened a bottle of water for her but that is not what she wanted.
I took her out but that isn't what she wanted either. After I got back into bed I realized what the little stinker was after. Peppermints.
We have a brand of hard peppermints that I buy. She is like me and loves these things and Nathan bought me a package yesterday.
I got up and got her one and she was a happy puppy dog. As soon as she had it then she settled back down and cuddled with me all night. The rest of the night I should say.

Well tomorrow is my big day. It is really hard to believe that I will be 60 tomorrow.
I have heard my birth story many times.
Today is my favorite uncle on my dads side of the family's birthday. He wanted me to be born on his birthday so bad. But I was born the next afternoon.
Apparently my dad and uncle were at work. It was a Sunday. Many of you know that my parents were alcoholics and apparently they didn't know anything about alcoholic fetal syndrome but honestly common sense when your pregnant should take over and say hmmm I better not drink, but I know that the bottle is stronger than anything else to a person who battles Alcoholism.
Anyway I think that since it was beer and it only took my mom 2 or 3 to be drunk as a skunk. I really think that beer was a better option than hard liquor but I could be wrong. I would have preferred my mother choose water, tea, soda or coffee to beer or hard liquor but she chose beer from what I have heard.
The night before I guess that they must have pulled a good one because I heard from my older sister and brother that the morning of my birth my mom was sitting at the table drinking a gallon of milk. She even sent my siblings to get more and that they had to buy quarts of milk and she had milk bottles sitting on the table to drink.
Hmmm so around 4:00 that afternoon my aunt sent my uncle to where my daddy was clearing land and said "Your fixin' to become a daddy so you better get on home and clean up."
Mama wasn't in labor very long before I was born.
I was a Sunday child. I weighed 6 pounds and 6 ounces. It had been 13 years since my mother had a baby and everyone talked about how fast I was born. I guess all that milk must have helped lol.

I just checked the mail and I have a package from Miss Edna and Pogo. I did not open it. I will wait until tomorrow! Thank you Miss Edna and Pogo.
But I did open my beautiful card and have it sitting on my computer table so I can enjoy it. It is very pretty and I just love the birds. Thank you.

So I guess that I will be going clothes shopping this weekend. We need to find me a few winter clothes and I have to get a pair of winter shoes and socks. I was just planning on borrowing some items from my daughter Laurie but we have a major cold front heading our way.
It is supposed to be as cold here this coming week as it will be in Reno when I get there.

It is time for lunch so I have to get my lunch and noon meds. You guys take care and I will talk to you all a little later... BB

Getting Ready For Reno

At the Play Park

Just a quick note. Our internet is running really slow so I will try to just do a fast post and see if the internet comes back to working better.

I cannot believe that it is Friday already. I am getting so excited because my trip to Reno Nevada is getting closer and closer. I will be talking to Courtney later on tonight.
I need to ask her a few things anyway and I want to order Celeste her Birthday present and I will wrap it when I get there.

I will not be here for Halloween with my other grandchildren but I will do something with them before I go. I am sure that they will have lots of fun with or without me lol.

Oh well my internet just went down again. I will get off and try later on to update... BB

Saturday Update:

I am not sure what is going on with our internet but it is lagging a lot.
I hope that I can finish this post and that it starts to get better.

So yesterday Courtney sent me my itinerary for my plane reservations. I will leave on October 28th and come home November 4th.
I checked the weather and I am going to have to come up with some real winter clothes lol.
The days are in the 60's and the nights are freezing like 33 degrees. But in 3 weeks who knows how cold the days will be. I am so excited.
I need this visit. The only sad note so far is that Alex's mom is being a B-Witch and will not let me see Alex while I am there. This hurts of course but I expected as much from her.

It was alright that she ran my son into the ground to my face but not alright that I called out her husband for the awful things he has done.
I know that it will all work out in the end. Things usually do and it is important that they play out the way they are supposed to.

Well last night was movie night. We watched Spider Man... oh loved it... we are going to watch it again in a little while. Then we watched X-Men The Dark Phoenix. Definitely on the watch list for another sit down and watch. Such beautiful graphics. And Finally... Aladdin. The one with Will Smith. I totally loved it. I think that he made an awesome Genie. It was really beautiful.
So that is what we did last night.

The kitty has a name. His name is Stormy and he is a male. He is turning into a beautiful cat.
Oliver is doing well. Oliver is the doggie. Such a sweet and beautiful dog. Even tempered and happy. He is not a barker. If he barks we go look to see what he is barking at.

Ok I have to get off of here because it is almost time for me to get my day going.. Take care everyone... BB
