Happy Friday Y'all

My latest colored page...

 Good morning,
It is a little after 9:00 a.m. and we are sitting at 80 degrees with a humidity index of 90 and should reach the mid 90's today. Even tho the temps are warm and the humidity high I did have a nice time sitting at the patio with a cup of coffee. We had a really nice breeze but it is gone now.

I took some pics of my art project today. I said yesterday that the rock was a pickle. I meant eggplant. I guess one of the kids decided to paint it green lol. Mine is of a tomato. I took it out of the box and took pictures. My markers are not acrylic but I have an acrylic sealer so no worries. In case your wondering what I will be using it is just a can of clear spray paint. I decided to order the acrylic markers yesterday so I will have them.
I cannot draw so I think that I will do my rocks in some patterns and have something encouraging on them. The back side will have the date I painted and my initials. So there you have it.

My plans are not very ambitious today. I'm still not feeling all that great. But I did sleep all night last night and I went to bed early. Before 9:00 pm. I remember Jonathan making some Banana Bread and Karyn leaving to go and pick Nathan up for work. But it wasn't like I was really awake. I was more like hearing things around me. I was aware but not aware enough to keep me from falling into a wonderful healing sleep. Also I was able to keep everything I had eaten down yesterday! Whoooo Whoooo,

Yesterday Nathan and I cleaned our fishes tank. Poor little guy just does not like a clean house haha. He seriously does pout. But we were worried because he was not swimming around at all. But a few hours last night he was all over his tank.
Jonathan bought him some new gravel and a tank vacuum and a new plant. He doesn't like the gravel. So we are not going to put it back in the tank when we clean again. If we do we decided we will just put in a little, perhaps in the corner. About a 1/4 cup should be enough. It really keeps him from seeing his reflection and that is very important to Beta's. Gravel helps keep his tank cleaner but since we have this vacuum now he doesn't have to have it. Jonathan just bought it because the lady at Pet Smart recommended it. I do have to go back and get some more water drops and conditioner. We used all of ours yesterday because the tank is a 3.5 gallon. He did have a gallon tank but Nathan got him a larger one. It is really a nice one.

So yesterday I was sitting out on the patio when I felt something on my arm. I didn't pay much attention because I was reading an article on my phone and when I felt the movement I looked down and wowsie… what a huge gray spider... My phone went one way and I knocked the spider to kingdom come.
It was gray and huge. It didn't bite me that I know of but my elbow started hurting really bad. I have a long scratch right under my elbow. I had to have hit it on something when I jumped up but I have no clue what. Anyway I usually don't bother with spiders unless they are poisonous but this one was evil looking and when I say huge I mean he/she was very big. Sorry Mother Earth but I sent him off into Spiderland… lol.

Sunday is my son Jonathan's birthday.  Today is his last work day and he is off for the next 9 days. He always takes his vacation the week of his birthday. I asked him if he had any plans and he said he would like to go fishing. I was surprised because he never enjoyed it. Not even as a child. He said he was surprised to but has a desire to just go fishing this year. I really hope that his day is wonderful.

About a year ago I came across a blog that I really enjoyed reading. I lost it somehow and couldn't remember the name of it. Well Day before yesterday I was searching for something and her blog popped up. So I have been really enjoying catching up on it.
It is called I tripped over a stone. It is mostly about Fibromyalgia and other issues that can accompany the disease//ailment. Anyway I am going to try and put a link here in case you would enjoy it. Her name is Kim and I am actually a member of her and Karen's Facebook group so I pretty much already know everything that is going on with her anyway.... :)

 https://itrippedoverastone.com/

Anyway I enjoy her so much and wanted to pass it on.

Before I go I wanted to share a few pics that my granddaughter Cathy and I did on my phone. Some are of her and some of me. I really like the one of me as a garden... Hahahaha. It is fun playing with photos. My garden this year isn't as beautiful as I imagined so I decided to be a garden lol....

Ok so I am getting off for now... Have a great day.... BB

The Kindness Project.

This is an image from Wikipedia that shows a painted rock. The story is really interesting.

Good Morning. It is still morning here for the next 59 minutes lol. It is hot and muggy as well as  overcast in some areas.
We are sitting at a 84 degrees and will hit the mid 90's with 68% humidity. Oh the sun just peeked out from the clouds. Hmmm well that means it will dissipate the fog advisories. I always get the fog alerts but really I haven't seen much fog lately.

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kindness_Rock_Project
This is the link to the Kindness Rock Project.
The Kindness Rock Project is a viral trend where people, commonly children, paint pebbles or cobbles and leave them for others to find and collect. Photos of the painted rocks and hints of where to find them are commonly shared on Facebook groups.[1] The trend originated in the U.S. and has spread to the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand as well as other countries.[2][3]

I think that these acrylic markers would be great for people like myself that cannot draw.

I have had several things I wanted to say but I am having problems with this blog post so I will close for now and try to come back again in a little while. If I can't then I will be back in the morning... BB

I Always Seem To Be Apologizing

Borrowed From The Internet

Hello,
I really hope that everyone is doing well. I want to say I am sorry that I haven't been blogging but that is nothing new at the moment.
My life has been so.... Indescribable.
It is going to take several blog posts just to catch up on the last 3 months. Some things I just cannot post on my blog so a long stretch will overlook several weeks of important things that have happened but I choose to keep as private as possible with only my family and a few friends.
I know that it would be a huge relief and therapy to journal it all but sometimes that kind of writing therapy needs to be done in a real life journal under lock and key haha.

Seriously tho lots has happened and so much of it not good. Most of these I can blog about. Like our air conditioning went out and the entire unit had to be replaced. Ugh what a terrible time during this kind of heat.
Thankfully we do have a great landlady and we were helped immensely by her kindness and how fast she and her husband took care of the problem. She also had a unit across from us that was vacant at the time and she let us use it as it had power.

My daughter Laurie and her family were here and they have been living in Northern California and this heat was very difficult for them. The last day was just miserable as we had the hottest day of the year so far at the time. They were trying to pack the car and couldn't be outside very long at a time. I was very concerned that heat exhaustion or stroke  was very possible with my son in law. I could tell he was not doing well.
Besides the heat what other misery at the time and still is? Mosquitoes the size of Texas along with the swarms. How oh how can they survive this heat is beyond me. It is impossible to enjoy our back patio. We don't have standing water but we do have a lot of trees and the leaves hold onto what moisture that they can.
The repellent Off does not help, nor do the citronella candles and incense . Although I have discovered that the incense does seem to work better than the candles.
My son Nathan and I are the ones that really love our back patio so we are investing in some Lemongrass, Lemon Balm and as many other plants that we can.
Money has been a problem. Having our family here as much as we were happy to see them, it really put us in a bind financially. Laundry, baths, dishes, etc used gas for hot water, electricity and water. but we knew that when they came.
So we are not complaining about having them. We just have to be a bit frugal for a couple of months. Right? Right.

Awww I just received some sad news. Beth Chapman wife of Duane Chapman of  Dog The Bounty Hunter passed away today. My heart broke. I was so hoping she would recover.
I never watched the show or even kept up with them but it is still so very sad when we lose anyone. Famous or not, just the fact that she had endured so much and her family is devastated of course.

The day after our air conditioning unit got installed Nathan and my son in law David decided to spring clean before we moved our beds and things back over here.
It was really nice of them to do that. I mean the house really needed to be swept and mopped and cleaned really well. Having 4 kids messes plus our own it really needed a good cleaning.
We had really cleaned good before Laurie and her family arrived and even packed up a lot of breakables that we didn't want to take a chance of breaking but even so we still had a lot of dust and dirt. Little fingers and hands! I have never been one for the Minimalist look. I like my stuff lol. However I am really enjoying this minimal look.
We also have a surround sound system. It is Nathan's actually and during the cleaning it was decided to move the room around for a bit more space.
Karyn has this cute coffee table and they took the big one out and moved this one in. It is a low table and it blended in a bit too well with our hard wood floors.
About 1:00 in the morning I was coming out of the kitchen and forgot the table was there. I tripped completely over the table, I came down hard hitting my head on the edge of a glass table and my neck hit my bookshelf. I really hit my chest hard too. My right breast took the brunt force of the fall.
I still have a large hematoma on the breast. The good news is that I am fading to a light green and purple instead of a deep black, blue and purple. The hematoma is still there. It really hasn't gone down very much.
So of course I had to go to the ER for that.

My latest thing is that I am having a serious issue with my stomach. I haven't been able to keep anything down for the past 10 days. I seem to be doing a tiny bit better but the extreme nausea has had me down to the point that I really haven't been able to do anything.
I just haven't been able to have the energy or the inclination to do much. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with my grandchildren. They are only little once.
But with my fall and the stomach issues we didn't do as much as we wanted to. Arts and crafts were a big part of my plan with them. I had bought them some cute little crafts to do with them but they ended up having to do them by themselves.
Dollar stores are great. I bought each of them wooden crafts. A boat, train, car and airplane. They came with the glue and paint and stickers to decorate their little projects.
Sidewalk chalk and soap bubbles was fun and my neighbor Emily loaned the kids her little plastic pool that is for her service dog so the kids could play in the water and attempt to stay cool.
The one really fun thing that I wanted to do with them was the rock painting. They are really kinda big. The size of a coaster actually. We had a carrot, tomato, sunflower and a pickle.
I am not sure who pulled that craft out of the bag but I was disappointed because I really wanted to help with that. I want to do the rock painting and hiding.
I did not know that this is a huge online trend. Let me see if I can find the information about it.
My daughter Laurie said that people actually join these online groups, takes pictures of the ones found and when and where and then post them online to the group so that they had proof it was found. It is a huge thing. I had first heard about it from a blog poster.
I think that this will be a topic for a future blog post. I want to really research it so I can give as much accurate information possible.

I am also running out of energy so I will close for now and I hope to be back tomorrow. Or even later today.
Take care everyone and Be Blessed. We have soooooooooo very much to be Blessed for.
Love to all and Big hugs to all.... BB

My Blog Post Was Eaten And Happy Birthday Laurie

My baby girl was born at 7:20 in the morning. She weighed in at 7lbs and 8 oz and 22 inches long. She was a very fast birth. Happy Birthday my beautiful girl... I hope your day was as special as you are....
My water broke at 6:30 that morning and I had a doctor appointment. I was thinking of canceling it but at the last minute I told my husband that I needed the car.
He said... Hurry up I can't be late to work today. (He was a relief driver and when someone couldn't take their route then he had to. No ifs and or buts. He had to be there.)
I was walking from our living room to get Jonathan and Karyn from there rooms and walking in the kitchen I had a contraction and grabbed the pantry door knob. My water broke and I looked at my husband and said... I have to go. I am in labor.
Laurie was born less than an hour later.
It is a great story but not so great at the time.
My husband practically forgot me. No kidding. He said "Beth you cannot have this baby today. I have to work."
I looked at him like... "Oh I will just tell the baby that Daddy has to work and you can't be born" I was having some great contractions so he had to get the kids in the car and seriously, he drove off leaving me standing in the damn kitchen.
Then when he returned do you think he came to help me? Nope he honked the damn horn. I am not sure how I got to the car. But I had a new car and we had to protect my seats before I could get in. Minutes are ticking.
Mama and daddy lived close by thankfully and I had already packed their suitcases and so Mama had everything she needed. We just had to drop the kids off. Finally we are on our way.
I told him to just go to work since we had to pass his work but he drove to my sisters house instead to get her to take me to the hospital. He always did stupid stuff like that. He was in such a hurry to get to work but passed it right on by.
I was really upset because I could drive myself. Go to work already and let me have this baby. We finally got my sister to the door and we were less than 5 minutes away from the hospital but instead of taking me he drove back to his work.
Linda and I are both in our night clothes. We dropped him off and we headed back down hwy 31 and just our luck. We got stopped by a train. I was very worried by this time because I was having contraction after contraction.
There was no alternate route. We had to wait for the train. I told Linda I thought I was going to have the baby in the car. The good Lord was looking out for us because I barely finished my sentence when the end of the train went by.
We also missed the stopped lights. They were all green. YAY!
When we got to the hospital she pulled up to the emergency entrance and said. "I will be back. I have to go and get the girls and take to mama and I need to get dressed. You will be ok until I get back. Right?"
Well I guess so. I got out of the car and walked in all by myself. To make a long story short they inserted the IV in the elevator and took me up to Labor and Delivery and my friend Barbara met me with a big smile. She lived close to me.
"So we are gonna have a young un... come on girl I got cha now.... " and getting onto the bed Laurie started to crown.
My doctor barely made it. And they had put some kind of pain medication in my IV and when Dr. McHenry held her up I said... Twins... Twins???? and he laughed and said it is the pain medicine. You have a beautiful little girl."

 And she is beautiful....

This is Laurie with her daughter Cathy.
This isn't the photo I wanted to use but it is handy as I can't find the one I used earlier.

Anyway this is it for tonight. I still have dinner dishes to do and I will have to recap everything I wrote in my blog that was eaten tomorrow...

Take care of yourself, have a great day or evening and as always be safe.... BB

A Belated Mother's Day and Short Post

 Indian Paintbrush and Blue Bonnets

Hello,

Spring is so here... I love it. I love the spring in Texas when all of the bluebonnets and the indian paintbrush wild flowers are blooming. It is that time of year again for us and I am so happy at seeing them.
These are pictures from the internet. Needless to say our trip was postponed until next weekend.

So yesterday we were in Karyn's little car... Jonathan, Karyn and I. Poor Nathan has a very swollen and abscessed jaw. Lots of pain and no sleep and so he stayed home. All he asked for was for something for pain. I got him some otc  Ambesol, some Tylenol and a ice pack.
Anyway there we were in the car riding along with everything going well singing Zippity Dooooo Daaaa Dayyyy when along came a THUMP.... thump thump thump… Our trip up the hills and down the valleys came to a pretty near stop. Not a real flat tire but to a stop none the less.
I say that literally because traffic was a bumper to bumper.  We decided to turn back and we thought that if we had an early dinner we would beat the Mother Day crowds.
Haha the joke was on us. We went to 3 different restaurants, A bar and grill and the waits were an hour plus.
I think that as early as it was that these poor people must have been sitting and waiting since right after Church services.
We did manage to find a place that we had never been and no waiting. It was busy but we were seated straight away and the food was really delicious except for the enchilada's. They were very salty. I thought that it was me because I have cut a huge portion of my salt out of my diet but the kids said that theirs were very salty as well.
I suppose that we were very lucky to have gotten anything to eat at all with how busy every place was. We really didn't want Mexican food but like I said we were lucky to get in at all.
The chips and salsa were excellent as well as the flavor of the food. I just left the salty food aside and concentrated on my entrée.

Back home I was feeling so tired as we had been out and about for hours and I still had one more stop to make. Karyn and I went to see Matthew because he really wanted to see me yesterday. I wanted to see him too so we took another hour to go and see him.

I hope to go to bed early tonight. Today has been busy as well. Nathan had a visit to the dentist and is now on Penicillin.  On Friday they are pulling 5 teeth. Poor kid.
His teeth are in terrible shape. They have all just started to crumble and break off. The dentist wants him to finance with them but seriously he cannot afford the finance charge.
So he is just going to have to pay as he goes. I don't understand why young men cannot get dental help or reasonable insurance. It really aggravates me to see him having to scrimp every cent to get dental help.

Well forgive me for this being a short post but I really am tired. Hopefully I will be able to rest tonight and I hope to have a good day tomorrow.

My youngest daughter will be 33 at 7:20 in the morning. Happy Birthday Laurie. I need to make her a page so I will try and work on that in the morning.
Have a great week and take care of yourself... BB

No Excuses

Hello,
I don't have any excuses for being away as long as I have been. I have stayed away for so long and it is always harder for me to become motivated after I stop my regular routine and try to get back into it.
I have missed blogging but at the same time I just didn't have anything to say that I thought was really worthwhile. Oh I have done some great things since the cold drab and gray days of February.
So this is my story and I am sticking to it!!!

Sometimes I get down and depressed but I think that we all have those kind of days. We are human and can't be upbeat and happy all the time. Anyway I haven't been depressed the last 3 months. I have been doing some other things.
It is really strange how time flies when your having fun. And I did have some fun days. A lot of them actually.

Also I do have to say this because it is important. I cannot be at the computer as much as I use to be. The reason is that if I am sitting my arms are outstretched and it makes my shoulders start to hurt, and then my neck starts to hurt.
I try to limit my time at the computer because I don't want to be in pain and that puts me behind so many ways.
First of all when I do get on the computer I really need to check my email. I have a lot of emails that I enjoy. Articles that I like to read, a few blogs, opinion pieces and then of course there is the junk mail I have to delete.
All of that takes time. By the time that I check and clean out my in box and read some of my mail, blogs and articles it is like a couple of hours have already passed. I do get up and walk around and stretch but some of the time I still start to hurt.

I am also taking an online course and I am really enjoying it so far. One good thing about this course is that I don't have a time limit. I can work at my own pace which is what attracted me to this course to begin with. And it is right in with my budget. It is the only thing that I have really done for myself in a long time.
Right now I am working with herbs. Growing, drying, cooking with them, storing them and last of all medicinal properties.

I believe in a lot of home remedies and have given a lot of them a try over the years so expanding my knowledge is great. Never to old to learn something new.
Right now I am working on a technique to grow herbs in water. It is called Hydroponics or Hydroculture. Not just herbs either but lots of flowers and even vegetable's.
Begonias, Chinese Evergreen, Coleus, Croton, Dracena, Impatiens, and any type of Ivy.
The list is long, but this is a few in this category.
Herbs include: Mint, Basil, Oregano, Lavender, Rosemary, and Sage.
If this is something that interests you Google has lots of video's, websites and blogs you can search out.

Some articles I have really enjoyed and even read a couple of blogs that go into a bit more detail of herbs, fruits and vegetables and just growing and cooking in general.
If you do decide you would like to put some stems in some water and place on your window sill, do not use clear glass vases or jars. Sunlight causes algae and so colored glass is really better. If you don't have any colored glass don't despair because there is a fix for that. Take a colored piece of construction paper or stock and cut a strip and tape it around the glass. That will keep the sun from shining on the water and causing algae to grow at a faster rate. Plus it is fun to decorate your own little paper... :)
Also keep an eye on your plants. Pinch off the leaves so they do not touch the water. You want the plant to root but you don't want their leaves to rot in the water. That can kill your plants fast as well as cause disease and of course more algae to grow.
Last of all, the more that you pinch off the large leaves to use the more that your plant will grow.

I did see a few articles on Rosemary I found interesting. Rosemary is a woody plant and although you can grow it in water it gets really large so once it is big enough it really would do better in a large pot or even the ground. Rosemary is such an awesome plant that you can go out and cut what you need right off and have it fresh every time.
I gave my sisters Rosemary plants for year before last. I was giving them some tips and I said... Take a rolled up newspaper or magazine and make sure that you slap it around. Don't be scared to hit it, the more you hit it the more natural oils it releases and the more it will respond.
My sister right off the bat laughed and said that she was naming hers Roger... that is her husbands name... she said it would be the first time that when he made her mad she could slap him around haha...

I had several Rosemary plants when I lived in Nevada. I use to wash the stems and strip some of them and put in ice cube trays and fill with water and freeze. Then I would put the little cubes into a ziplock bag and have them on hand when I needed them.
I also would cut them in large pieces and leave them whole and also freeze them so I could toss a stem of Rosemary into my simmering Spaghetti sauce or stews and I absolutely love lemon and Rosemary roasted chicken. Such an awesome flavor.
But most of the time I just went outside and took what I needed and saved the ones in the freezer for those days when it was pouring rain or I was running late. I love the smell of Rosemary and here in Austin we have it growing wild everywhere. I love to watch it blooming, with the little purple flowers and just run my hands thru it.
Rosemary is good for a lot of things too. I know that they say that Lavender is the go to for sleeping and calming but I find that Rosemary does the same for me.
I use to have some Rosemary body butter that my sister gave to me and I loved putting it on after I showered at night.

We have plans for this weekend since it is Mother's Day here in the U.S. but we had talked of going to some thrift stores and looking for some colored glass vases. Well we decided that we would just have to find a few around the towns where we are going to go and visit.
We planned on taking a wine tour but it looks like Karyn and I will have to do that another time because the boys are not interested in doing that.
I didn't think that they would be but we wanted to do something fun for everyone so we will see when we get there. But I do want to check out some of the thrift stores and places. Maybe we will pass a few garage sales along the way! Now that would be fun too.
I am actually going to be looking for colored glass vases and old jars that I can use to make my water garden with. The sites I have looked at show a lot of pretty colored Mason jar mugs. I haven't seen any colored ones around where I am but they are really pretty on some of the sites I have seen.

Oh and I want to look for a large clear glass cookie jar if I can find one. I would rather find a used one that someone had rather than a brand new large jar from Hobby Lobby or Michaels.
What I want to do with that is to make a terrarium for some succulents. Like in the photo I used at the beginning of my blog. I use to have one I made when I lived in Nevada out of an old fish tank I had.
It was really pretty. It was really big too, so I want something on a smaller scale this time around.

Oh my I have to tell you about what I saw at my doctor's office yesterday.
Have you ever seen a Living Wall?
A Living Wall is like a huge picture hanging on your wall only it is filled with real plants.
Yesterday while I was at the doctor (Hindsight again, I meant to take some photos) I was looking at their walls and asked Ruth the receptionist if the plants were real and she said yes and no... The huge large one was real, but the others were not. They were just silk flowers.
 But OH MY how gorgeous.
I borrowed these free images from Google so you can get an idea.

The one at my doctors office is filled with ferns and succulents. I asked her how often they had to be cared for and she said that once a month the company that built the wall comes in and mists the wall really good.
I seen this done as a patio type wall but not on these large scales such as the free standing wall shown here or the one in my doctors office.
They had really pretty baskets with plants filled in them and some dangling out of the baskets. Sort of like the second photo above.
I think that this is a great idea. So pretty. What do you think?

Anyway so that is some of what I have been doing. Believe it or not I have been finding things to keep me busy every day.
Yesterday and last night I went thru a large stack of papers to be recycled. Old medical insurance papers, junk mail, catalogs and this and that. Names had to be torn off the front of a lot of stuff for privacy reasons of course so that is time consuming but I got the job done!!!

I really don't know how paper multiplies as fast as it does. Paper is like dust bunnies... they just multiply. It can get ahead of me really fast. Plus I am one of those people that when people send me cards and letters I don't want to throw them out even if they are several months old. I put them in a shoe box or tin can to save them, but I keep them out for a long time so I can look back on them. They bring me joy so I love having them around. But the rest of all the magazines and paper had to go into the recycling bin. And I started a new tin with this years cards and letters to keep.

I am having some kind of problem with my fonts... they keep changing on me. I have no idea why. I have them on the same setting I always set them on.

Has anyone noticed that since they dissolved Google+ that things on Blogger are different? At least they are for me. I have been having problems getting onto Blogger. I use to could just click my link and it would take me straight in but now I have to go to Google and search for my blog and then click it. When I try to save the link it only wants to save the last page that I worked on and not take me to the main page.
It's been aggravating to say the least. I noticed it the other day when I decided to get online.

I have been wanting to blog for several days now but let me tell you we have had some hellish Electrical Storms and winds that are rather scary. Spring/Summer storms are always scary in Texas.
Right now we are in the middle of a Flood watch/warning. Some places here have already seen so much rain. The lakes are full and they are talking about opening more flood gates at the dam and also a few places have water boil warnings out. We haven't gotten a notice yet but we have a particularly nasty storm brewing and I have had a few calls from family telling me that they heard we could really be under the gun here in Austin and surrounding areas.
One reported that they heard we could get up to 8 inches of rain. It really worries me because we will probably flood at that stage.
Also it really worries me about us having to evacuate. This is the first time living here in Austin that we are on lower land. None of us actually thought about that at the time. I suppose that is why they call it hindsight. Things you think of later!
We had always lived on a hill that was on a hill but while we are still on higher ground than downtown, we have already flooded. I will have to blog about that in my up coming posts.

I have been doing a bit of Christmas shopping and birthday shopping. I haven't decided what I am going to get for the boys. Nathan really likes Dragons and I found a really nice incense holder that is pretty awesome. It takes the cone type of incense  and not the long thin ones. Anyway you set the cone on top and then as it burns down the smoke travels down thru the dragon and back up and out of it's mouth. It is pretty cool.
I am waiting to see if the price goes down and if it does I am going to get it for him.

Well it is time for me to get off here and go and lay down. It's been a long day and I am tired. Karyn is sick with a very bad stomach problem. She and I both have had stomach issues since Easter. Nothing that I eat seems to agree with me. In fact it seems that everything upsets my stomach.

I was going to go and see my Gastro doctor the other day because I have some tests coming up and he was going to check with my insurance on a couple of things to see if they would cover it and I was supposed to have gone back on Wednesday but the rain was awful and Karyn was stuck down town with the roads flooded. She called and told me that she couldn't get out where she was and get to me and then for us to get all the way back to down town because the roads were flooded.
I tried for an hour to call and let them know I wouldn't be coming but I guess they must have been having a lot of cancelations because I never could get thru.
The last two days I have simply forgot to call the office so first thing Monday I need to get on the phone and get that appointment rescheduled.
In the mean time I am going to go and take my night meds, maybe watch a movie or something and try to sleep.
 Have a great weekend..... BB

A Nice Day

New Beginnings, kit from Rosie H

Hi,
I hope that this Saturday afternoon finds you doing something fantastic and joyful.
For me it is bittersweet. We have sunshine but it is going behind the clouds on and off and we have wind.
I stood out on the patio today and closed my eyes as the sunshine fell onto my face and the wind flew thru my body and caressed my skin. It was wonderful and brief. The clouds started forming then the sky became a slate gray and I went inside.
Not long after the sunshine peeked out again so I was in and out enjoying the day until lunch time and I decided to work on my blog so here I am.

The bittersweet is that my son Matthew caught a plane at 6:10am to Reno Nevada. I know that he needs to be close to his children and I really hope that this is a good move for him. My heart breaks for this Man/Child of mine. I know he is a grown man, but he is still my child and I worry about him.
I worry about all of my children. That is what a mom does I suppose.

I decided to make a page today. I want to get back into scrapbooking but I am going slow at the moment. It will be easier since I have the living room back. I didn't want to disturb Matthew while he was sleeping and folks let me tell you... my son went to bed at 8:00pm and was asleep by 8:01pm I kid you not. He could roll over and close his eyes and sleep like a baby. He was an early riser. He would get up early and start helping by making sure things were done before I got up.
I appreciated all that he did. I will miss him terribly as well. But I know that he misses his children as much as I miss mine when they are not close to me but that is a part of life.

My friend Patsy is at her church Bible Retreat. I can't think of the name of the town but it is slightly north of where she lives. I know that she is having a fun time. We were chatting a few minutes on messenger last night instead of our usual phone calls because her roommate was already sleeping but we still giggled over things like little girls. She is so funny that she makes me laugh so much.
She said the food was so delicious that she was stuffed and then sent me a sticker of a guy with a fork and knife over his plate and then another one of a stuffed person who ate too much... They were so funny. She has such a happy heart and sweet spirit. I am so lucky to have the people in my life that have filled a deep void in my own soul.

Miss Edna is the best friend in the realm of Beth's world. I love her and I am amazed at all that she has accomplished in her life. She is this type of person that fills up my heart.
I rarely use the word "Best Friend" because how can you choose more than one to be a best friend. That was in my early days when I had friends in my life that numbered more than I can say.
But Miss Edna is a Best Friend to me. Really she is more than a Best Friend to me. She is family in the real sense of the word.  I always call her just to listen to her speak. She is one in a million and I love her more than I can say.
I can call Miss Edna and ask her a million questions or I can just ask her for advice or for her to tell me a story... something just clicked with Miss Edna and I.
I am so blessed to have her in my life and I am so happy I stumbled across her blog.
Oh and Pogo... My little buddy.. I have missed those sweet cuddles and kisses. He forgets me but it doesn't take long for him to remember me when we see each other. I cannot wait for cuddles and kisses. They may be short and sweet but I love them.

Patsy is also a Best Friend. She and I have been friends for a long time. She remembers our Friends Anniversary every year haha... Yeah I know. I never remember the date but she does!
I love Patsy like a sister because in some ways she and I both have experienced lack of sisters. Sometimes she needs the support of her sisters and they are not there for her, (Like Me I Guess) and she will call me or vice versa. I call her too when my family isn't available to share things that we can share as sisters.
Patsy and I both have chronic illness's. She has a disease that is very horrible and how she does what she does takes such strength.

We both have this sleep thing. For both of us, if we are having a busy day or a busy couple of days then we just crash the next day.
Mine is due to the exertion that I get when I am having a really good day I get super busy. I clean, cook, work in the yard and a ton of other things because I never know from one day to the next if I will be hit with a Fibromyalgia flare up.
Since I have started this medication about 4 years ago I haven't had a really bad attack in almost 2 years now and about 4 months ago I was feeling like my medication needed to be adjusted because I was having problems with pain in my elbows and really all of my joints and skin feeling like needles poking me or a feeling like I had a run in with a cactus. She left me on my medication and added Lyrica. It has really helped me a lot.

I found this on the web one day and it really fits all of us who has this chronic illness.

Yep this is just how I feel. About 7 or 8 years ago I woke up during the night crying. My skin was on fire with stabbing hot pricks that felt like needles. I had a red rash and every joint felt on fire.
My boyfriend drew me a warm bath and that didn't help so around dawn he carried me to the emergency room. They just said it was probably a reaction and gave me a shot and something for pain and sent me home.
Looking back I now know that this was my introduction to Fibromyalgia. I lived with this horrible pain until about 4 years ago. Maybe 5 now.
I went to see my internal medicine doctor and she said... "Have you ever been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia."
Oh the head disease I thought. I had always heard that it was always in your head.
She said that I should see a pain management doctor. I left her office thinking that I needed a second opinion.
As luck would have it or fate, what ever before my next appointment the insurance company that I had at the time informed me that they were dropping my clinic and the hospital. So I had to find a new doctor.

Anyway I ended up changing my insurance because it was just better coverage and just a better choice.
At my first appointment I did not mention what the other doctor had said about Fibromyalgia. Truthfully I had just forgot about it. At my first appointment they do what they call a new patient annual physical. He told me that he was sending me to a Rheumatologist.
When I went to see him I asked him if he had my records and he said not yet actually. I sent for them again this morning and I should have them by the end of the day.
Oh wow I really loved this guy. He was so awesome to me. I sure missed him when he left the clinic but he really had a job offer to good to refuse...
But he said... I am going to order a series of blood work and some x-rays. I have a feeling that you have Fibromyalgia.
So okay... And when my blood work came back he confirmed it. He also had me choose a pain management program.

My pain management team is really awesome. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are on top of their game and they don't have a time period for an office visit. Most give you 15 minutes and they are done. But not my doctors at the pain clinic.
The head doctor of the clinic and I shared the same birthday. I saw him just after our birthday. He told me not to leave without getting a piece of birthday cake. Well I walked right out and forgot about it because I had to see him first and Cathy after I saw him.
A week later I received a text message saying he had passed away and time and date for his memorial service.
 Oh I was so heartbroken.

Anyway I don't know how this got so long but I better get off and figure out what we are doing for dinner tonight and a few other small things I need to do, but nothing big. Nope this is a lazy day.

I have a couple of funnies to share with you. I hope that they will bring a smile to your face!!! Have a great weekend and take special care of yourself..... BB
