Anna and Elsa from the movie Frozen. My granddaughter Celeste and her cousin Lili have several costume dresses and they can play dress up for hours and I have gotten the "Frozen" bug myself.

 Good Morning,

 I have been up for almost 45 minutes lol. I have a doctor appointment today. Just a check up and I have put it off twice now so I have to go to this one. They are going to send me to the lab for bloodwork before my cataract surgery on the 4th so I really need to get this one done and over with.

 Yep Edna, I knew that I had changed my text to blue. This one should be light blue. I am playing around with my fonts and colors.

 I read that we are going to have a big update but I can't find any more information on it, even when I try searching. It is odd, but I read the same thing about a huge update for the iPhone and now can't find any information on that. Just the release of the new iPhone 13. It is really ridiculous the amount of money that a phone costs, My first one cost $60.00 a month and I didn't have service half the time. I do have to say that I am spoiled with my iPhone. I doubt that I will ever go back to a android again unless I just have to. It's not heavy or bulky and I don't have to push a lot of buttons to get to where I need to go. I really like that!

 I never thought about my having a pet crow Steve. I like that idea. This morning he had a couple of pieces of frosted mini wheats and some grapes. I guess I spoil even the crows lol.

 No word on or from my advocate. I call every day so I figure that they will get tired of me calling eventually. I called the state of Nevada the other day to get the number for the medical handicapped office but it is the same number that I already have. I have to say that I am not impressed with Nevada's health care at all. I am having way too many problems with the doctors here and Karyn moved out of the apartment that she shared with Jonathan. She and her boyfriend found a house finally and Jonathan said if I wanted to that I could move back with him. There are a lot of pluses to that, Jonathan is quiet and laid back. It was Nathan and Jonathan together that made it hard because Nathan, I love him very much but Nathan is very hard to live with. There is a lot more to this story and when I have some extra time I will let you know what it is.

 But I have to get in the shower and get dressed so I can be ready to go to my appointment so I will talk to you all later... Take care everyone... BB

  

A Beautiful Day

We are still having the smoke from the wildfires. This photo was taken just a couple of days ago.

 My Blog settings are not doing what I want them to do but that is nothing new. I hope that your all doing well. We are alright here and just wish that it would pour down raining for a couple of days to get rid of these wildfires. Just when they think that they have a handle on it, then another one is started from the wind sending ash and with the drought conditions the ground is so dry and the under brush just ignites and that is all that it takes to start the fires blazing once more. We just pray for rain. That is about the only thing that is going to help put them out. That and the strong winds need to calm down.

 So there isn't really any news to report. The weather is just gorgeous. The high today is 78 degrees and the low is 49 degrees so it is really nice. 

 On Monday I was outside with Matthew and he said Mom look over your shoulder. There was a crow inching his way over to me. I usually have some kind of treat for him so he came looking. He left when he realized he wasn't getting a treat. I was prepared the next morning tho and he has been hanging around a lot more. He is still a baby. 

 We have a lot of sea gulls and they are pretty wild. They are not as easily trained as the crows. I still love to watch them and try to be up so I can see them but they are usually really early with the bats. We have tons of bats that roost in the trees and they are like clock work. If I am a single minute late getting outside then I miss them and can only see a few stragglers that come by.

 I had to go to see my podiatrist. He takes care of my feet and I had him look at my pinkie toe as it is so sore and I can barely wear my shoe on the left foot. I started complaining about it back a few weeks ago when Courtney's parents were here and I had Courtney look at it. She said it was red but didn't see anything wrong with it. Well he x-rayed it and it is broken in 3 places. I haven't done anything to it for it to be broken. No stumps, nothing that I can recall and since there is nothing that can be done about it I said "Well now I know why it hurts!" I swear I am falling apart piece by piece lol.

 I have some things that I need to do soon. I guess I need to get busy with it. I have a sink full of dishes to wash but I will have to wait until Courtney is off work because her mic picks it all up so I guess that will teach me to wash the dishes after dinner at night. I was not feeling good last night and so I didn't wash them so I will make sure that I do tonight so I won't have so many. I hope lol.

Hi, How Is Everyone Doing?

 

Hi, I really hope that everyone is doing alright. We are fine here. Knock on wood no-one is sick.

 This is a old Bruce Willis movie and if you want a uplifting funny movie this one is just awesome. I got it for Courtney and I to watch and we tried but it was one thing after another that we turned it off and said We are going to finish this tomorrow night lol. Well before I knew it tomorrow night was a week later. We made a mistake and invited Megan to come and watch it and we made it about 20 minutes into the movie and she had one phone call after the other and we decided that we were not going to invite her to watch a movie with us again. Courtney and I want to be able to actually watch the movie. We finally succeeded in watching the movie and it was hilarious. I had seen it before when it first came out but Courtney had not seen it so it was a real treat for me to see her relax and just sit back and lose herself into the movie. 

 I ordered 2 other movies for my son Matthews birthday. He has loved these movies so much and I had been thinking of things to get him so I ordered Over The Top with Sylvester Stallone and Black Dog with Patrick Swayze and he and Courtney went to the Pepper Mill to spend the night and he took the movies with him. That Boy! He was supposed to have checked out there Venue for their wedding but instead they went to eat then just enjoyed being in the suite but he ended up laying on the couch the next day and we all watched the movies together. Over The Top is about a truck driver that fights for custody of his son. I didn't think about that when I ordered the movie but it resembles what Matt is going thru now fighting for Alex. 

I didn't get to finish my post the other day. I actually need to go back and read over what I had written. We had seen cock roaches come up thru the drains so Courtney contacted the office and from what we were told they had found a infested apartment and they evicted the people and after they were gone, they sprayed it and gave all of us in the 6 units a 24 hour mandatory notice that our apartments would be fumigated. We had sufficient time to pack our things up and the 24 hour notice was to remind the residents and if they were not prepared then it could result in a steep charge and possible repercussions. So we started in one room and then after it was all done and we could get back in, it was late so we just did the necessities like getting the beds remade and moved back into place, I worked in the bathroom to get it back in order and Courtney worked in the kitchen for our coffee pot lol and since she had to work the next day and Alex had school we were racing against the clock for the kids bedtime and at 11:45 I went to see if I could help her in her room. She was laying on her bed and I could see that she was nearly asleep and she tried sitting up and fell back onto her pillow. I asked her "Would you like for me to just shut off your light?" and she said that would be wonderful. She was up bright and early the next morning tho. She had to get Alex off to school and clock in to work so the girl was up. I won't say that she was bright eyed and bushy tailed but she was up lol.

 Here I am several days later posting again! It has just been so crazy around here. I thought that I would be able to at least finish this over the weekend but that didn't happen. 

 I have these suction grip bars that I used on the shower. Back last Christmas I told Courtney that her shower wall was loose and she said that it had been like that and she had a work order put in and all that they did was come in and caulk the top of it and left. So it has been loose all this time. She said that it had been loose since she moved in but she put in a work order a couple of years ago because it was getting worse.

 Well there was a leak in the apartment below us and they came upstairs to see if we had a leak and the maintenance men told the office that my grip bars had pulled the wall loose and that is why they had a leak in the apartment below us so the office called Courtney and told her that they were going to come in and install a new surround shower wall but I couldn't use my grip bars and so Courtney said that they could pull up the original work order and the woman said "I'm not going to argue with you about this" and Courtney said alright "I will have my mother in law contact her advocate in this situation because she needs those bars because she is at risk of falling." So I contacted my advocate only to find out that she has either moved to a different position with the company or that she is no longer with the company and I would be assigned another Advocate and guess what? I have left message after message with the department that handles this. The office told Courtney that my advocate would have to hire a contractor to come out and put the bars in professionally because they would have to screw into the sheet rock. Yeah right.

 So the maintenance man was supposed to have been here at 10:30 Friday morning and told Courtney that there would be no noise because she reminded them that she works from home. Well they didn't show up until 3:30 Friday evening and yes there was quiet a lot of noise. Enough that Courtney had to call the rest of her work shift out. They left at exactly 5:00pm with only half of the wall put up and said that we couldn't use it for 24 hours. We all needed showers but we put it off. We skated thru. Sunday and the water was shut off most of the day for some reason but at least it was back on so that everyone could have a shower except me. I was waiting for hot water and I was just super tired so I thought that I would just get mine in the morning and that was when I called you Edna and was going to get my clothes and be ready to step into the shower and Matt had a court hearing and said "Mom I need your room and you cannot be in the room as it involves Alex." I said Ok I just need to get my clothes and I grabbed my pants but got a pair of shorts instead of the t-shirt I planned to wear and no socks and no shoes. My ride transportation called me to say that they were on their way so thankfully Matt walked out of my room and I dashed in and got ready but I just had to go to the doctor smelling like YUCK! When I got home the water was off again. Finally I was able to get my shower but no shower grips. Thankfully I have my shower chair. I never put weight on those grips. They are just there so when I turn around I have my hand on something just in case I slip but I have a wonderful bath mat and my chair so really it is a comfort thing but I will not put them back up because if for some reason I forget to take them down and the maintenance men have to come back up here in the future and see them on the shower wall Courtney might get in trouble and I wouldn't want that so I will keep trying to contact the advocate program and find out who my new advocate is and why no one has returned my calls.

 Matt failed breakfast this morning. He put the kids some french toast sticks in the microwave for a minute. One came out fine and the other plate burned to a crisp. lol. But he walked Alex to school and so all is good except the smell of burned toast haha.

 I gotta go. I want this posted today so I will say have a great day or evening where ever you are... BB

 

To Tired To Think

Hello,

 I have been trying to get to my computer to do a quick blog post but my good intentions are actually not meeting my life at the moment.

 Things have been really crazy here the past 3 months or maybe 4 and I feel so guilty when I go this long without posting but at the same time at the end of the day I am past exhausted and so I don't get the chance to even open my computer to check the things that I need to keep an eye on and so blogging is the last thing that is on my list and it just doesn't get done.

 I am going to sit down and email a few of you guys so that I can let you know what is going on in my life that I really cannot put on my blog. At least not right now. 

 I have things that I want to tell you about but even tho it shows that I don't get a lot of comments or followers I look at my stats and I see that I have a lot of views and I am not sure what to make of it. 

 I don't like the way the Stats are set up I wish that they were the way they were when I first started blogging, it seems I have lots of visitors but no one leaves comments except you Miss Edna and Steve.  Anyway I don't want to chance it that someone I may speak of happens to read my blog I will feel better if I just email you and tell you directly. 

 I don't know when I will actually get to the email but I am actually going to start it tomorrow. I have been bursting at the seams to get some of this stuff off of my chest.

 Karyn is supposed to call me tomorrow and we are supposed to catch up. This time difference is the pits. 3 hours to you Edna, and 2 hours to Texas it really makes it hard to call. When I can talk privately then everyone is getting ready to just chill out for the evening so I don't want to interrupt anyone's evening, whether they are sleeping or not it is still time for people to unwind after their day so I want to respect that. 

 I don't really have a lot of privacy here. It is totally different here.  Kids are kids and they are in and out, having fun with their friends, activities etc. 

 School has started and Alex is in band this year and learning to play the flute! I am really proud of him. He got his instrument on Friday so homework is taking the flute apart and put back together and to learn to play 3 to 5 notes. He is doing really well actually.

 I have to go to bed because it is after 2 in the morning here so I need to get some sleep because tomorrow is another busy day for me.

A Little Crazy Goes A Long Way!

 

My son Matthew on Monday. He was dressed in his Sunday best for a court hearing. When I look at this photo of him I cannot believe how much more mature he looks since he has started driving a truck. I guess it has made him grow "Older" lol. Ssshh I really didn't say that did I? lol

 Hello,

 I hope that all are doing well. I guess that we are ok. At least we are working on being ok. Monday was the first day of school for Alex. He missed it because he and his dad and Courtney had a court hearing which ended up being re-scheduled because the other party did not appear on time. Right before they left to go for the court hearing they received a confirmation that Alex did not have to attend but since the hearing was a hour and a half away they did not have time to take him to his class and spend the time that his first period asked the parents to attend so he started the next day and it worked out fine. His dad was able to meet his teacher and stay for awhile, fill out any papers that needed to be filled out which was not many because all of that is done online now. He was enrolled a week before school even started and he also was able to get the electives that he wanted. 

 He said today that he really liked the school lunches. He said that the food is a lot better than the food at his old school. He eats breakfast here and today he chose chicken nuggets, corn, green beans, a roll, and a banana and milk. He is able to choose as it is cafeteria style.

 He is going to call me on his way home each day because he will be walking and that will be a added plus for me. He will have Courtney's sister in law meet and walk him home but today he walked home by himself (along with a group of kids who live here at the complex) so he wasn't alone and if he wants to call me then I think that is just wonderful. 

 This child has been thru so much. I can't post about it because it is rather private at the moment and so really can't comment because of court hearings and such but hopefully things will be looking up not only for him but for his 5 siblings as well. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers for we surely need as much positivity as possible.

 We are working on wedding plans. The wedding date might change due to our family situation but right now the wedding plans are still in the works. We are excited and happy and Courtney and Matthew have chosen the venue and it will be rather beautiful. As the mother of the Groom I don't have that much to do at the moment. I did order my dress for the rehearsal dinner for the night before. I am waiting to see what Courtney's mom chooses for the actual wedding as we are suppose to dress similar but not exact. For my rehearsal dinner dress I am going to have the buttons replaced because the buttons look like giant pearls and they are just gaudy and Courtney is not a fan of pearls and in the catalog the buttons look like silver snaps but in reality they are huge white balls and half of them look like they are going to fall off any second so I am going to have them replaced with something else and thankfully they are just decorative and do not actually button up. I do love the dress tho. It fits like a dream and very comfortable. 

 I am going home to Texas the first week in October so I can go thru a few things in storage and spend a couple of weeks and it is also my birthday on the 11th so I will be glad to be able to spend some time with Jonathan and Karyn and then the second week of November I am flying to San Diego and spend a week with Patsy so I have a few fun things planned. All according to my health of course. I really hope that I stay well. I am going to try my best to and I will schedule all of my eye stuff around the few weeks that I am home. Then my traveling will be over because the holidays will be looming right around the corner.

 Before I go I want to tell you what Courtney and Matthew got for me. They know that I have such a hard time staying cool so they got me a new time of cooler. It is called  Newair. It has a big basin in the bottom for water and comes with a ice pack that keeps the water cool for 8 hours. It is portable so I can pull it close to my bedside if I need additional cool air or move it to where it can just circulate around the room. It also has a humidifier to help with the dry air. It is really super nice and I am really happy with it. I said no when Courtney first talked to me about it because the nights are cooling down really nice and I know that money is needed for other things, especially since Alex is here and needed new clothes and his school requires uniforms and so I said no but they surprised me with it and I can't believe how much of a difference it has made with my sleeping.

 It is almost time to start dinner so I will go for now. I hope to catch up reading everyone's blog as soon as possible. Please take care and I hope to be back soon. I am going to have to change my computer hours since Alex is in the computer area for now. I enjoy my computer at night but it will be really good for me to change my hours in the day instead of night.

A Hard Couple Of Months

 

Hi,

 I know that everyone thinks that I have dropped off the face of the earth but I have just had so much going on and it has left me drained. By the time that I am ready to post I don't have the energy to do so. I don't even know where to start so much has happened.

 I am not sure if I posted it or not but I was in the hospital for several days. I lost a couple of days because I don't remember anything other than what I have been told but apparently I passed out and Courtney called 911 and they carried me to the hospital where they found that my kidney was sepsis and I was very ill. To make matters worse the paramedics had to take me to a different hospital rather than the one in my network and Courtney wasn't listed there as my next of kin or emergency contact but she did get in touch with one of the head nurses and gave her my medical history and medication list and I have made sure that Courtney is listed as not only my emergency contact but my daughter.  (Which is not a lie). That story is coming up next.  Anyway I got the care that I needed and I had a very sweet roommate who's daughter told me about her retina specialist so I called when I got home and made an appointment and I am so glad that I did. We did a different procedure which was some drops in the eye and I had to keep my head down for the entire day. It was something to do with the retinas and I didn't have to have a eye injection so that was pretty awesome for me.

My son Matthew and Courtney got back together. They worked out their problems and I was so happy and I think that I posted about him asking her to marry him. They have been planning away for their wedding nexf July. But lots of things can change because we now have my 10 year old grandson living with us. Matthew had been trying for years to get custody of him and the authorities contacted Matt that he needed to come and get him immediately. The funny thing is that on that day Matt arrived a day early and his receiver accepted his load a day early so he came home and picked up Celeste to go and get Alex and they were about half way when Matthew got the phone call. He said I am on my way. I really hope that everything works out good for him. This child has really blossomed in the short time that we have had him living with us.

 Today is the first day of school and Alex had to miss it. Legal stuff so he has been excused but it is going to put him a day behind and I am sorry for him for not being able to be their on the very first day. But it will work out the way that it works out.

 I hate this laptop. I am about ready to wipe it clean and start completely over with it. There really isn't anything on here that I can't replace. I am so tired of trying to work with my scrapbook program and it has just been a headache trying to work on it and so Courtney said to wait until she gets a little free time and we will wipe it clean and start over with it. I have read the user manual back and forth and it is not covering the problems that I am having with it. My old laptop was working fine right before I moved to Reno but once I booted it up it took a day and a half to come on and it is running so slow that I can't change from one program to another on it and I am very upset about it. Obviously it has problems. Jonathan said that it sounds like it caught a virus and I said well of course. That is just my luck. I have some scrapping elements and a couple of kits on it that I really would hate to lose but the day I was going to back them up is when I noticed that the laptop was running sluggish and I didn't back them up. So I think that I am happy in one way because I could have infected my external hard drive with something. 

 I have to go. I have a doctor appointment today so I have to get in the shower and get ready so I hope all has a fantastic day. Hugs to all and Blessed Be. BB  

Is It Really The Weekend??

 More art from my album Blog Inspirations. I totally forgot all about this album and when Courtney fixed my photos and I started making my albums I came across this one and I decided to use some of these pictures until I get back to scrapbooking full time. 

 I have some wonderful photos but I promised Courtney that I wouldn't put any photos of Celeste online. It is a long story but it is for safety reasons and as a parent I cannot say that I blame her. 

 It is always wonderful to see pictures of our kids, how much they have grown, the cute things that they do and the fun pics but since I realize the danger that these innocent photos can put our kids in, I wish more parents wouldn't display so much of their children's activities online. 

 I made some English Pea Salad the other day and Celeste was sitting on the counter so she could stir the ingredients and it was so funny to watch her because she asked for a spoon and she just reached in and loaded up her spoon and took a bite right out of the big bowl. Needless to say she loved my pea salad and I sent photos I took of her to her daddy, her Aunty Karyn and both of her uncles and her mama. I realized that I can send pics to who I wanted to in our family. I didn't have to display them all on Facebook, Instagram and so forth. I know that even my photos can be hacked but I feel more comfortable doing this than splashing them all over the internet. 

 It is 4 in the morning and I am still awake. But no one has a set bedtime on the weekends. I am usually asleep by now but nothing ever goes according to plans. I should just stop trying to plan things and just take things as they come rather than trying to plan something.

Weekend before last we had a house full of company. Randy from Salt Lake City Utah was here and then Courtney's mom and sister from Colorado.

 I know that Denise and Cecile wanted to spend time with all of the grandkids but in my opinion it would have been easier if they had gone over to her son's house but no, everyone came here. It was really a mad house. Courtney had to work the last day they were here so it was hard trying to keep the kids quiet while she worked. Denise has a doctor here and asked me if I could watch the kids for about 45 minutes. I said sure no problem but her daughter Cecile decided to drive her to her appointment and they took the kids with them. That just left me, Celeste and Randy here and by the time that they got back and we had lunch (Denise brought back burgers) and the kids played. The day before on Sunday we had the birthday party for Lily and Brayden and we did not do a party and a meal like we had done before. It was sort of a let's see what we have in the fridge. I had made a huge pot of vegetable beef soup and we had chicken and cheese enchiladas and lots of sandwich fixings plus a huge Chef salad so no one was going to go hungry. 

 The next weekend Courtney and her sister in law Megan and I had a girls night out. We put a movie on for the kids and we sat outside. I am not sure what to call the space that we sit at. It isn't really a balcony but it isn't a patio either. It is a nice little area that overlooks the parking lot, the park and the front of the exit gate. Whatever it is we do have a beautiful view of the mountains. 

 The night of our girls night out we just put the kids down for bed and they spent the night. Megan and Bryan Lily, Gunner, Luke and Emma were up with the birds, and I forgot to add Celeste in the list as well. Celeste is pretty self sufficient. She can get her own breakfast and juice so no worries there, but the other kids are not able to get their own unless it is something like a pop tart or something similar and Celeste will help with that.

 The rest of the week was not a easy one and Courtney described it as the week from HELL. She had some of the rudest customers that yelled at her for the most part and one call lasted over a hour and a half. Courtney missed her entire lunch break day before yesterday. 

 She got her lunch break and one of her breaks today but missed one completely and I called Matt today (Yesterday) and he asked if she was ok and I said yes but was working and didn't come out for her break so she must have been on a difficult call. He said that she usually texted him during her breaks but he didn't hear from her. She called him when she got off work because her dad had eye surgery yesterday and she was texting her mom because something didn't go right with his surgery and he was having a follow up. 2 years ago her had had a complete eyeball transplant and he developed a cataract but something else had gone wrong and he may lose that eye. So Courtney was trying to understand what the doctor was saying to her dad. Matt understood so they are good.

 This is basically a recap of my last blog and I really wanted to blog about something else but I am really too tired to go into it so I will save it for my next post which I will try and do tomorrow or later tonight depending on if I get any sleep. 

 I will be getting a eye injection on Monday so I will have to blog tonight or tomorrow. It will take a few days to get my sight back so I will talk to you tomorrow... Be safe and Be kind to one another and take care of yourselves.... BB
